Dr. Manfred Schmid studierte in Bayreuth Chemie und promovierte im Bereich Polymerchemie. Bis 1997 war er als Chemiker in der Polyamid-Forschung bei der Fa. EMS-Chemie angestellt. Anschließend war Herr Schmid Projektleiter im Bereich Kunststoffanalytik/Biopolymere bei der EMPA. Seit 2008 ist er Leiter der Forschung und Entwicklung für SLS bei der Inspire AG, irpd.
Dr. Manfred Schmid is Head of R&D for Additive Manufacturing with Plastics at Inspire icams in St. Gallen, Switzerland. He is also author of the book “Laser (LS) Sintering with Plastics”, published by Hanser in 2018.
