Dr.-Ing. Matthias Hopp hat an der Universität Paderborn Maschinenbau mit der Vertiefungsrichtung Kunststofftechnik studiert und anschließend am Lehrstuhl für Kunststofftechnologie promoviert. Im Rahmen seiner anschließenden Tätigkeit als Oberingenieur am KTP (Kunststofftechnik Paderborn) hat Herr Dr. Hopp einen eigenen Forschungsschwerpunkt im Bereich Recycling von Kunststoffen und eine eigene Lehrveranstaltung im gleichen Themenfeld aufgebaut. Zudem hat er sich in der Lehre unter anderem mit der Vorlesung Werkstoffkunde der Kunststoffe engagiert. Im Jahr 2024 habilitierte sich Herr Dr. Hopp im Fachgebiet Kunststofftechnik, wodurch ihm die Lehrbefähigung und die Fähigkeit zu eigenständiger Forschung an einer Universität anerkannt wurde.
