Leandro Loriga

Dr. Leandro Loriga holds a BA in Medical Anthropology from the University of Bologna, an MSc in Psychological and Psychiatric Anthropology from Brunel University London, and a PhD in Bioethics from Masaryk University. He explores the ways in which society influences and is influenced by psychological and psychiatric categories, the ethical challenges posed by the integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the impact of spirituality and religious experiences on life choices. He engages with communities, policymakers, and healthcare professionals to translate complex ethical issues into actionable strategies that promote human dignity and autonomy.

Dr. Loriga has been involved with Body Integrity Dysphoria (BID) for more than a decade, working closely with physicians and individuals who have or claim to have the condition. His goal is to create a safe network that connects individuals, raises awareness of BID, and fosters understanding and support for those affected by this complex condition while also addressing the significant moral, ethical, and legal ambiguities that continue to surround it today.
