Thibaut Lacroix

Thibaut Lacroix is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Ulm University, working on quantum effects in biological systems, the theory of open quantum systems, and numerical methods for open quantum systems and many-body physics. He holds a Ph.D. in physics awarded for his work on theoretical descriptions of dissipation at the nanoscale under the supervision of Prof Brendon W. Lovett at the University of St Andrews, and Dr. Alex W. Chin at the Institut des Nanosciences de Paris (Sorbonne Université). Prior to that, Thibaut Lacroix worked in deep tech innovation at the Parisian start-up incubator Agoranov as a Junior Entrepreneur in Residence. He graduated in theoretical physics from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and in scientific innovation from PSL Research University's Institute of Technology and Innovation (ENS de Paris, École des Mines and Observatoire de Paris). He is also a laureate of the French agrégation de sciences physiques.

Beyond Markovian Dissipation at the Nanoscale

Thibaut Lacroix

This book proposes innovative and timely modeling, as well as simulation strategies based on tensor networks, to tackle the difficult problem of describing the dynamics of open quantum systems at the molecular or nanometer scale beyond a Markovian treatment. Among the many insights it delivers, the work includes calculations of the dynamics of a quantum system coupled to a bosonic environment that can be potentially structured and/or possess spatial correlations....
