Tanya R. Fitzpatrick

Tanya Fitzpatrick, Ph.D., MSW, RN, obtained her Ph.D. from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and is Professor Emerita from Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona (Dept. of Social Work) with a background in nursing, oncology and gerontology. She was the Director of Research and a Consultant at Hope & Cope at the Jewish General Hospital, Montreal, QC. (2009-2014). She has mentored first and second year McGill medical students on research projects focusing in gerontology, cancer survivors and health-related outcomes. Besides editing a book on ethnic elders and two books on cancer survivors, she has received grants, and published numerous articles and book chapters in scientific journals. She volunteers in the community at Women’s shelters and is on the board of various community and health organizations.
