Toutkoushian is a professor of higher education in the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia, USA. He is an economist who specializes in compensation and finance issues in higher education and has particular expertise in the application of statistical methods to problems in higher education. He has published more than 50 studies in leading peer-reviewed academic journals and 20 chapters in edited books, and his research has been funded by agencies including the Institute of Education Sciences, the Spencer Foundation, the National Center for Education Statistics, and the TIAA Institute. Dr. Toutkoushian is recognized as a leading authority on pay equity in higher education. He has published more than a dozen studies in leading academic journals on how to conduct pay equity studies. </span></p>
