Matteo Giacomelli

Matteo Giacomelli is a planner and environmental scientist currently employed at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of Politecnico di Milano. He holds a degree in Environmental Studies from Aalborg University and a PhD in Sustainable Urban Planning from the University of Camerino, with part of his doctoral research carried out at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv).
 
His research explores the topics of landscape ecology and regional development, blending theoretical insights with practical applications. He is co-founder and president of Inabita Laboratorio Territoriale, where he coordinates Qui Val di Fiastra, a pilot project for local regeneration in the Marche Region, promoted and funded by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
