Department of Ecology and Environment Monitoring, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China

The Department of Ecology and Environment Monitoring is responsible for organizing and carrying out ecological environment monitoring, greenhouse gas emission reduction monitoring, emergency monitoring, investigating and evaluating the national ecological environment quality status and forecasting and early warning, and undertaking the construction and management of the national ecological environment monitoring network.

China National Environmental Monitoring Centre (CNEMC) is a public institution directly affiliated to Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The major functions of CNEMC are: monitoring national environment; spearheading the development of environmental monitoring technology; delivering monitoring information, reports and technical support to national environmental management and decision-making; and rendering technical guidance on national environmental monitoring.
