Charlotte De Kock

Charlotte De Kock, PhD is Visiting Professor in Criminology and senior researcher at the Faculty of Law and Criminology, Institute for Social Drug Research (ISD), Ghent University (Belgium). She teaches qualitative methods and critical criminology, and pioneered Belgium's first course on diversity and migration in criminology (Ghent University). Her research focuses on equitable and evidence-based substance use prevention, early intervention, harm reduction and recovery capital in migration contexts, as well as research ethics and critical criminology. Her work has been funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office, Research Foundation Flanders(FWO), the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Applicants (Fedasil), Ghent University (Belgium) and the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA). She is a deputy member of the Ghent University Board of Governors, the faculty diversity coordinator and the faculty representative in the Centre for the Social Study of Migration and Refugees (CESSMIR). Knowledge translation is a key thread throughout her work.
