He was a visiting Professor at the Catholic University in Munich, Germany (2022 - 2023). He previously worked at the Universities of Cape Town, Johannesburg and Witwatersrand. He was also employed by the South African Government in the Department of Social Development as a Chief Director \/ Social Policy Specialist. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Zambia. He was also a postdoctoral fellow at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH) Paris, France.
