He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and completed residency at the same institution. He pursued advanced training in sports traumatology and arthroscopic surgery in Munich and Zurich. His clinical focus includes trauma surgery, sports injuries, arthroscopic procedures, and primary and revision arthroplasty. Prof. Mermerkaya has published extensively, authored book chapters, and served as speaker and instructor at national and international courses.
