He graduated in 1981 and earned his MS and PhD in Surgery at Alexandria University, Egypt. He completed his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He is a fellow of the International College of Surgeons (ICS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). His main fields of interest are Head and Neck and Endocrine surgery.
